Qiaoyu Joy Zhang

Zhang is an enthusiastic and creative lighting designer based in Los Angeles. She was born and raised in China. She holds an MFA in cinematography and has shot short narrative films and music videos as director of photography. Her background in cinematic lighting gives her a unique perspective as she approaches theatrical lighting design.  She was a recipient of the 2020 ETC Fred Foster Student Mentorship Program, a highly regarded program that pairs lighting professionals with students to help guide and develop his design career moving forward. Recent design credits include Giulio Cesare, Memory Habit, Something Massive Looms Overhead and Cosmo St. Charles Is Dead.
