Faith A. James
Costume Design, San Diego State University, she/her
James has completed her MFA in Design & Technology at the School of Theatre, TV and Film. Her puppet and costume design and artisanry experiences range from new plays such as Lying with Badgers with Native Voices at the Autry to main stage productions such as James and the Giant Peach where she focused on puppet build. She has worked as both costume and puppet designer on a theatrically filmed production of She Kills Monsters and has specialization in wire bending at Trinidad & Tobago Carnival. She has completed a Jim Henson Foundation: Mini Residency Grant with the Puppet Showplace Theater; worked with the Moxie Theatre on a filmed theatrical production of The Niceties, directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg; and a production of Orpheo (Peri), directed by Alan E. Hicks at San Diego State Opera. She is also a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry (LAGP).
