Mumbi O'Brien is a costume designer from South Florida, currently living in Los Angeles. She pursued a BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design, selecting the major for its interdisciplinary emphasis. Once there, O’Brien developed a performance and installation-based focus, and due to extensive costume elements in her work, she received opportunities in styling and costume design. Her styling work has been featured in publications such as i-D, L’Officiel & Marie Claire, and her costume design work has been displayed at film festivals such as Sundance and Berlinale, with one currently available in the Criterion Collection.
