Juliana Newman creates atmospheres where characters breathe and worlds where intricate stories delicately unfold. Born and raised in Texas, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in anthropology and art history, an academic coupling that shaped her interest in the dialectical relationship between art and society and led her to a career in design. After college, Newman spent four years supporting a range of art departments in television and movie productions. She will receive her MFA from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television this spring and plans to continue cinematic production design in L.A. and beyond.
